Knowledge & Awareness
1) How would you describe your understanding of what Artificial Intelligence actually is?
I have no idea what AI is or how it works
I've heard the term but couldn't explain it clearly
I understand the basics, it involves machines learning from data
I can explain AI concepts like machine learning, LLMs, and neural networks confidently
2) Which of the following best describes a Large Language Model (LLM)?
A very large dictionary used by search engines
A type of database that stores documents
An AI system trained on text data to understand and generate human language
A programming language used to build websites
3) AI systems like ChatGPT can sometimes produce confident-sounding but factually incorrect information. What is this phenomenon called?
I'm not aware of this happening
I've heard of it but don't know the term
It's called a bug or glitch
It's called hallucination, and I know to verify AI outputs before using them
Tool Adoption
4) How often do you use AI tools (e.g. ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot, Gemini) in your work or daily life?
Never, I haven't tried any AI tools
Occasionally, I've tried one or two tools a handful of times
Weekly, I use AI tools regularly as part of my workflow
Daily, AI tools are central to how I work
5) Which best describes how you use AI tools in your work?
I don't use them at work
For simple tasks only, drafting a quick email or searching for information
For multiple task types, writing, research, summarising, and brainstorming
I've integrated AI deeply, automations, custom prompts, or AI embedded in team workflows
6) Have you experimented with AI tools beyond text generation, such as image generation (Midjourney, DALL-E), voice AI, or AI-powered automation tools (Zapier AI, Make)?
No, I've only used text-based AI tools, or none at all
I've heard of these but haven't tried them
Yes, I've experimented with one or two of these tool categories
Yes, I actively use multiple AI tool categories and evaluate new ones regularly
Mindset & Adaptability
7) If a new AI tool could automate 40% of your current tasks, what would your most likely reaction be?
Concerned, I worry AI will replace my role or make my skills irrelevant
Cautious, I'd wait to see how it affects others before trying it myself
Curious, I'd explore it and figure out how to redirect my time to higher-value work
Excited, I'd proactively identify how to implement it and share the opportunity with my team
8) How do you currently stay up to date with developments in AI?
I don't actively follow AI news or developments
I pick things up passively, social media or conversations with colleagues
I follow newsletters, podcasts, or blogs dedicated to AI
I actively learn, I follow researchers, attend events, take courses, and test new models as they release
Ethics & Security
9) When using an AI tool like ChatGPT for work, which of the following best describes your approach to data?
I paste in whatever is needed, client data, internal documents, financial figures
I haven't thought about it much
I'm cautious, I avoid sensitive data but I'm not sure of the exact rules
I follow a clear policy, I know what data is permissible, use anonymisation where needed, and check tool data retention settings
10) Your organisation is considering using an AI tool to assist in making hiring decisions. What is your view?
Great idea, AI will make hiring faster and remove human bias entirely
I'm not sure, I'd leave the decision to IT or management
I'd want to understand more, AI can reflect biases in training data and shouldn't be the sole decision-maker
I'd advocate for a formal AI ethics review, assessing bias risk, legal compliance (EU AI Act), transparency, and human oversight before deployment
